Our writers hold to the idea that faith without works is dead (James 2:17) and believe that the Word of God is the foundation for a truly fruitful life.

Our roots cling deeply to the Word of God and we believe that deep study of the Scripture is the primary way we grow into mature women of faith.
History of the CC
One day, years ago in 2012, a newly-elected Women’s Ministry Director (Cyndi) and a young mom (Briana) decided that the women of their church could use some common literature. They started The Quarterly Journal, which was distributed free to every woman of the church four times a year. The journal slowly evolved, with many local women ebbing and flowing as writers and standing contributors. In 2015 it was renamed The Crimson Cord Journal, a fusion of twin tenets of our vision: to honor Christ as the crimson cord which ties us all together as women of the church, and to motivate us to work together toward maturity. We echo Ecclesiastes 4:12, “And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken” (ESV).
Our delightful little CC (as it’s called by most) has enjoyed some significant periods of growth as well as endured some really lean times. Briana and Cyndi operated on a skeleton crew for many years, with Briana as the editor since the beginning. In 2017, Cheryl joined and became the new editor. And finally, after many years of praying, God granted our request and in 2018 brought us the team we needed to take the Crimson Cord to the next level. Claudia, Brittany, Margaret, Melissa, Pat, and Val brought us the skill sets we needed, and plans immediately started to transition the Journal into a published and nationally distributed magazine.
Whether you were part of one era or will be in the next, we are so thankful to all who support the Crimson Cord. You are real women with true stories of a faithful God, and we couldn’t be happier that you are willing to share them with us. Thank you to those who have poured many grueling hours into excellent scholastic study of the Word of God, to teach and to train the rest of us. And thank you to our dream team editorial board: none of this would be possible without your daily sacrifices of God-given talent. And to you, O Lord, from generation to generation we will recount your praise! (Psalm 79:13, ESV)
